Biography

Nhung Thi Hong Le is a senior trademark executive in Tilleke & Gibbins’ intellectual property group in Vietnam. With her experienced team, she handles all matters related to trademarks including oppositions, cancellations, and appeals. Nhung represents world-famous rights holders in many sectors, including luxury goods, fashion, appliances, and pharmaceuticals in Vietnam and other countries.

With more than a decade of experience in the trademark field, Nhung excels at crafting persuasive arguments to win opposition and cancellation cases and has successfully helped numerous clients protect their IP rights and overcome complex office actions.

Nhung is registered as an IP practitioner in Vietnam and is licensed to represent clients before the NOIP.

Experience

  • Assisted an American online news and social networking service to successfully prove the well-known status of its trademark in Vietnam, with skilled research, strong evidence, and persuasive arguments. The recognition of well-known status will benefit the trademark owner greatly in future conflicts.
  • Acted on behalf of a European automotive company to protect their trademarks from many adverse parties through opposition proceedings and cease-and-desist letters, preventing dilution of the owner’s reputation in Vietnam.
  • Managed a large trademark portfolio for one of the world’s major athletic footwear manufacturers.
  • Helped a Japanese film and theater production company to successfully appeal a trademark refusal based on likelihood of confusion by researching and presenting the strongest arguments on the merits of refusal. As a result, the Japanese owner has had the trademark registered in Vietnam.
