Franchising is an increasingly popular business model in Thailand, with over 400 franchisors and 10,000 franchisees currently operating in the Kingdom. Despite this popularity, there are no specific laws governing this sector in Thailand. But as a result of publicized disputes regarding contract breaches and a range of trademark and intellectual property violations, a draft franchise law has been in circulation in recent years.
