Tilleke & Gibbins senior consultant Somboon Earterasarun was interviewed by a journalist from the Chinese newspaper People’s Daily, as part of its coverage of World IP Day. In the interview, Somboon discussed the additional value that businesses can develop when they begin to view intellectual property as an investment, rather than as an expense.
Within the broader context of international IP developments, Somboon also described the progress that China has made in protecting IP rights, and the positive impact that this can have on Thai companies that do business in China. But there is more work to be done, he acknowledged, such as a more effective system for dealing with complex IP disputes.
