Somboon Earterasarun, director of Tilleke & Gibbins’ Jakarta office, will be a guest speaker at an IPR Helpdesk event cohosted by the European Commission and the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS). The event, named “ASEAN Intellectual Property Rights in Focus: Singapore, Indonesia, and Thailand – The Challenges and Opportunities Ahead of 2015,” will feature presentations on the different IP landscapes throughout ASEAN. Somboon will speak on the topic “Intellectual Property Rights in Thailand,” and he will discuss the following main subjects from a regional perspective:

• Differences between Thailand’s IP system and other ASEAN countries
• Important considerations for trademark registration in Thailand
• Pitfalls of IP registration in Thailand
• Case studies

The IPR-Helpdesk is a European Commission project to support enterprises in protecting and enforcing their intellectual property rights.
