Tilleke & Gibbins Contributes to Nextlaw Whistleblower Systems Guide

Athistha Chitranukroh, partner and deputy director of Tilleke & Gibbins’ corporate and commercial group, has contributed the Thailand section of an online comparative tool on requirements for whistleblower systems worldwide. The contribution covers important areas of compliance with Thai law and regulations, such as Thailand’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA); the role of authorities, employers, and employees in the operation of a whistleblower system; language requirements; and whistleblower protections.

The online tool covers 73 countries, with more to be added soon, and allows users to look up regulations and perform side-by-side comparisons of frequently asked questions regarding the establishment and operation of whistleblower systems in different countries. The tool simplifies the process of understanding complex and changing legal requirements on issues such as personal data protection, reporting procedures, and language requirements. It is intended to provide a clear starting point for legal and compliance personnel of globally active companies that need to comply with regulations across multiple jurisdictions.

Tilleke & Gibbins’ participation in this project came about through the firm’s membership in Nextlaw, the world’s largest network of law firms. Nextlaw aims to connect accomplished law firms and their clients with top legal talent in other jurisdictions. It currently has over 670 members in 205 countries.

Please visit the Whistleblower Systems page for more details and to try out the comparative tool.
