Thanh Phuong Vu heads the patent team in the Hanoi office of Tilleke & Gibbins. She is a licensed lawyer and qualified IP agent with a strong cross-disciplinary background in the life sciences and IP law. Thanh handles patents and designs in a wide range of areas, including the pharmaceutical, computer, and automotive sectors. She also has direct experience in the life sciences from working as a researcher in pharmaceutical and biotech laboratories.
Thanh earned a Bachelor of Engineering in Biotechnology with high marks from the Hanoi University of Technology, and received a scholarship to the National University of Singapore, where she obtained a Master of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. She subsequently earned a law degree from the Hanoi Law University. Thanh is a member of APAA, ASEAN IPA, and VIPA.
