Dat Thanh Nguyen is a senior patent executive in Tilleke & Gibbins’ Hanoi office and the deputy manager of the electronics patent practice. Ranked as one of Vietnam’s leading patent practitioners in the IAM Patent 1000, Dat specializes in information technology and electronics, having spent more than 17 years prosecuting patent applications in these fields from the pre-filing to post-granting stages. He has also handled mechanical and chemical patents. During this time, he prosecuted more than 1,200 patent and design applications.

Dat holds a Bachelor of Information Technology from the Hanoi University of Technology. He also received a Diploma in Software Engineering, with distinction, from FPT-Aptech. After graduating from university, he worked for one year as a software developer for FPT Software, one of Vietnam’s top IT companies. Dat then spent several years working at a top IP law firm. He has also completed a training course in patent drafting techniques that was organized by the European Patent Office and the IP Office of Vietnam.
