Uruphan Suwanprasop is the director of the Legal Translation and Interpretation Department at Tilleke & Gibbins’ headquarters in Bangkok, with over two decades’ experience practicing in this field. Uruphan plays a crucial role in providing professional translation and court interpretation services to support all lawyers and non-lawyers, supervising her team members to provide good quality translation from Thai to English and English to Thai of all types of legal and non-legal documents received from all departments of Tilleke & Gibbins. Uruphan also regularly serves the firm’s clients as an interpreter for litigation and mediation proceedings.

Uruphan has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, an LLB, and a master’s degree in translation. In addition, she is licensed to practice law and act as a notarial services attorney, and she is a barrister-at-law admitted to the Thai Bar Association. Uruphan is a registered expert with the Office of Judiciary and Court of Justice in Thailand, and she won the prestigious Surintaracha Award as Thailand’s Best Interpreter for 2013—the first time that the award was granted to a court interpreter.
