Sonatree Sehamontree is a consultant in Tilleke & Gibbins’ regulatory affairs team in Bangkok. Sonatree assists clients with a range of matters pertaining to food, cosmetics, and hazardous substances, including Thai Food and Drug Administration (FDA) product registration, advertising and labeling guidelines, and various other life sciences and regulatory affairs issues. She also advises on Thai industrial standards matters that fall under the supervision of the Thai Industrial Standards Institute, as well as animal feed registrations with the Department of Fisheries.
Prior to joining Tilleke & Gibbins, Sonatree was a regulatory affairs supervisor for the Thai subsidiary of one of the world’s largest consumer goods multinationals, where she handled product compliance and Thai FDA registration for goods including food, cosmetics, and hazardous substances.
Sonatree holds a bachelor’s of science in food technology from Khon Khaen University, and a master’s degree in food safety, hygiene, and management from the University of Birmingham.
- Assisted an industrial food company developing a frozen Thai sweet product for export to Japan by preparing product and raw material specifications in compliance with Japanese and Thai regulations.
- Prepared registrations, applications, and license renewals for product approval licenses for food, cosmetics, and hazardous substances, in compliance with FDA regulations.
- Advised cosmetics distributors and sellers on strategy for product naming, formulation, and labeling to meet Thai FDA requirements, and assisted them with obtaining the necessary licenses.
- Advised various companies on obtaining product licenses and manufacturing/import licenses for products containing hazardous substances, and assisted with product labeling, product claims, and preparation of registration dossiers for FDA approval.
- Advised a company on importing products that fall under the Thai industrial standards certification requirements overseen by the Thai Industrial Standards Institute.
