Tanapong Pongburanakit is an associate in the intellectual property practice at Tilleke & Gibbins’ Bangkok office, where he advises and represents a broad range of clients in commercial and intellectual property litigation related to both criminal and civil matters. In addition to his litigation work, he also advises international clients on matters related to trademark registration in Thailand.
Before joining Tilleke & Gibbins, Tanapong worked as a litigation associate in various leading law firms in Thailand, where he worked with teams on international litigation and arbitration in Australia, Cambodia, and Singapore, and independently handled complex litigation cases for a variety of clients.
Tanapong graduated with an LLB from Chulalongkorn University and is a member of the Thai Bar Association and the Lawyers Council of Thailand. He is a notarial services attorney and has completed the barrister-at-law requirements of the Thai Institute of Legal Education.
- Advised a mutual fund on a THB 160 million land dispute by providing legal guidance and outlining potential legal strategies for them before filing the lawsuit.
- Provided strategic courtroom defense advice to a well-known digital terrestrial television channel in Thailand in a copyright infringement case.
- Advised a UK-based apparel company on securing trademark registration in Thailand for their brand, involving an appeal to the Board of Trademarks and amendment of the application’s list of goods/services.
- Represented a Korean restaurant chain owned by a large food-service conglomerate in a tort case trial and arranged for negotiations with the opposing party with the aim of reaching a mutually agreeable settlement.
- Advised a Thai digital terrestrial television provider on legal options for securing the takedown of infringing websites.
