Biography

Quang Minh Vu is an associate with the corporate and commercial team in the Ho Chi Minh City office. He advises clients on a variety of legal matters in Vietnam related to investment, the daily operation of a company, and cross-border activities. He assists with M&A projects as well as establishment procedures for new companies and branches and subsequent amendment of licenses, and advises on employment matters.

Quang is also a key member of the firm’s regional TMT (technology, media, and telecommunications) team, and regularly advises multinational clients on regulations in Vietnam in emerging sectors such as data privacy and fintech.

Experience
  • Assisted multinational companies in a wide range of industry sectors (including manufacturing, trading, hospitality, cosmetics, cloud computing, e-commerce, fintech, and more) in complying with data privacy-related issues.
  • Advised a number of technology giants on TMT (tech/media/telecom) matters, most notably regarding Vietnam’s regulations on fintech, cloud computing, e-commerce, and cybersecurity.
  • Provided regular advice and assistance to the Vietnam subsidiary of a Southeast Asian cement and building materials company, including drafting and reviewing contracts and correspondence, and advising on business matters from a legal perspective.
  • Reviewed and revised commercial contracts in connection with a wide range of legal issues, including software, distribution of goods, and employment.
  • Advised local and multinational companies in labor-related matters, including policy review, contract review, labor-related procedures and ad hoc advice.
  • Assisted a U.S.-based plastic manufacturer in cooperating with a Vietnamese partner to establish a joint venture company, including the legal due diligence stage.
  • Assisted a German client in conducting legal due diligence to acquire shares of an FDI company engaged in animal feed processing and trading.
  • Assisted a German NGO to register its operations in Vietnam and advised on its daily work.
  • Assisted a German client in handling a litigation case with its Vietnamese partner at the Vietnam International Arbitration Centre regarding the payment obligation for the sale of CCTV systems.
