Victoria MacLeod is a consultant in Tilleke & Gibbins’ intellectual property department in Thailand. She is an experienced practitioner in matters involving intellectual property rights protection, enforcement, and commercialization. She advises domestic and international clients on franchising, licensing, intellectual property registration, prosecution, and enforcement in a wide range of industries, including media, technology, hospitality, and life sciences.
Before joining Tilleke & Gibbins, Victoria was on the in-house legal team of a major multinational entertainment company, working across jurisdictions to ensure the global protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights. She has spent many years working to protect her clients’ intellectual property.
Victoria holds an LLB from the University of Greenwich.
- Advised an international client on their master franchise document to protect the franchisors interest in the region, including harmonization of the franchisor's standard terms with local regulations and laws.
- Advised a multinational entertainment company on upcoming regulatory changes surrounding content-sharing in EMEA, their potential commercial impact, and possible strategies for using these regulations to enhance IP enforcement.
- Assisted a client who had identified a potentially infringing streaming platform in MENA, which entailed conducting extensive research into the platform and its operators before advising on enforcement options.
- Advised on regulations surrounding AI and the changes that could occur in different territories for the client to better understand the current AI landscape and consider how AI could impact their IP enforcement efforts.
- Assisted an international banking client in the creation of their global framework agreement. This involved working across multiple jurisdictions and offices to create a universal agreement that streamlined the contracting process.
