Biography

Robbaita Zahra is an intellectual property coordinator in Tilleke & Gibbins’ office in Indonesia, specializing in trademarks. She assists companies in various industries on a wide range of trademark matters, handling trademark searches, registrations, prosecutions, assignments, oppositions, advisory, and other trademark-related matters, in addition to providing strategic advice on how companies can best protect and capitalize on their trademarks in Indonesia. She also provides assistance on other intellectual property matters, such as copyright-related issues.

Prior to joining Tilleke & Gibbins, Robbaita worked as a legal associate in a prominent e-commerce company in Indonesia, where she handled its intellectual property matters.

Robbaita earned her LLB from Universitas Gadjah Mada, during which she also participated in an intellectual property course at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in South Korea. She has also completed the Indonesia Advocates Profession Training held by the Indonesian Bar Association (PERADI).


Experience
  • Conducted trademark searches to assess the availability and registrability of clients’ proposed trademarks.
  • Filed trademark applications and collaborated with officials at the Directorate General of Intellectual Property to ensure smooth registration processes for clients in a wide range of industries.
  • Represented clients in maintaining and defending their trademark portfolios in Indonesia through filing oppositions, recordals, renewals, hearings, and other related actions.
  • Drafted cease-and-desist letters and advised clients on strategies for tackling their trademark issues in Indonesia.
  • Liaised and consulted with government agencies, such as the Directorate General of Intellectual Property, the Directorate General of General Legal Administration, and the Ministry of Communication and Information, to obtain information on various client matters.
