Biography

Kantida Jiaranaidilok is an associate in Tilleke & Gibbins’ corporate and commercial department in Bangkok. Kantida assists corporate clients with a diverse range of legal needs, specializing in mergers and acquisitions (M&A), tax and customs, corporate and commercial transactions, real estate projects, and labor and employment matters. Her broad-based expertise enables her to provide comprehensive legal support and tax advice tailored to each client’s unique context.

Before joining Tilleke & Gibbins, Kantida was an associate in a boutique law firm in Bangkok, where she provided legal and tax advice for international companies intending to expand their businesses in Thailand.

Kantida graduated with an LLB from Thammasat University, and she holds two master’s degrees from Queen Mary University of London: an LLM in Tax Law and an LLM in Corporate and Commercial Law. She is a licensed, ordinary member of the Thai Bar Association.

  • Provided strategic guidance on M&A transactions for foreign technology firms seeking to acquire shares in a Thai company, which entailed proposing an innovative approach involving the transfer of employees as an alternative solution to ensure a smooth transition and maximize operational efficiency.
  • Conducted legal due diligence and provided legal advice for well-known mixed-use condominium developments in Bangkok with a cumulative value exceeding USD 1 billion, aimed at facilitating the sale of condominium units to buyers from Hong Kong, Singapore, and other international markets.
  • Advised on profit repatriation to a parent company in order to maximize tax benefits, which involved evaluating international double tax agreements and Thai tax regulations to devise efficient methods for repatriating profits in compliance with local laws while minimizing tax liabilities.
  • Provided legal advice to foreign companies seeking to operate in Thailand with 100% foreign ownership and assisted in obtaining required permits, such as a foreign business certificate under the Treaty of Amity between Thailand and the United States.
