Biography

Aimee Frangos is a consultant at Tilleke & Gibbins, specializing in international development with a practice that extends across the firm’s offices in Laos, Myanmar, and Thailand. She is a seasoned legal practitioner with almost two decades of experience, providing counsel in a variety of areas, including corporate and commercial law, dispute resolution, regulatory compliance, and intellectual property. She excels in interpreting common- and civil-law legal principles on an international scale and crafting client-centered solutions.

Beginning her legal career as an attorney in 2007, Aimee quickly ascended to head a general litigation, banking, and commercial department at a leading Johannesburg law firm by 2011. Her subsequent tenure as a member of the Johannesburg Bar further solidified her corporate and commercial litigation practice.

Throughout her career, Aimee has established a well-founded reputation for representing major banks, mining companies, and high-net-worth entities and individuals in complex legal matters. In her various roles, she has effectively tailored legal strategies for various prominent entities, overseeing commercial transactions, dispute resolution proceedings, and intellectual property matters.

Aimee was enrolled as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa before being admitted as an advocate of the High Court of South Africa.

  • Obtained an urgent interdict for the immediate return of commercial property based on a mandament van spolie claim, which restored possession of the property to our client and prevented further unauthorized use by the opposing party.
  • Assisted in a claimant’s construction arbitration case—which required a detailed examination and remeasurement of structural steelwork, mechanical and plate work, and piping—involving a claim for over NAD 100 million.
  • Advised on a negligence claim case involving a workplace injury due to an electrical flashover at a power substation, with the comprehensive analysis provided being crucial in determining negligence and the extent of damages.
