Areeya Yongnusornvanich is a consultant on Tilleke & Gibbins’ regulatory affairs team in Bangkok. She assists clients across a range of life sciences industries, such as pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and herbal products. Areeya also advises on patent and trademark issues related to life sciences and engineering.
Prior to joining Tilleke & Gibbins, Areeya served as a regulatory affairs coordinator at a pharmaceutical company in Bangkok, where she managed product dossiers from registration to the preparation of variations for submission to the Thai FDA. Additionally, she worked as a clinical research associate, overseeing various clinical trials for both local and global studies, including those related to vaccines, oncology, and medical devices. Areeya also possesses experience in research, development, and production for pharmaceutical manufacturing. She has also assisted research in Japan on transdermal cytokine reactions.
Areeya is a licensed pharmacist who holds two bachelor's degrees—a Bachelor of Pharmacy from Silpakorn University and an LLB from Chulalongkorn University.
- Advised on obtaining product licenses and manufacturing/import licenses for herbal products and medical devices, and assisted with preparing registration dossiers for Thai FDA and other related authorities’ approval.
- Assisted companies in obtaining good manufacturing practice (GMP) certification and overseas GMP clearance for medicinal products in Thailand.
- Conducted legal searches and provided legal analysis on consumer health issues related to the Consumer Protection Act and the Product Liability Act.
- Provided guidance on advertising for drugs, medical devices, food supplements, and cosmetic products in accordance with Thai FDA regulations.
- Monitored the implementation of regulations by the Thai Food and Drug Administration and the Ministry of Public Health concerning drugs and medical devices.
