Biography

Chonnitorn Kaminkrue is an associate in the intellectual property department at Tilleke & Gibbins’ head office in Bangkok. She is a versatile practitioner who collaborates with domestic, regional, and multinational companies to maximize the value of their intellectual property.

She has expertise in trademark prosecutions, covering registration, searches, and objection analysis. Her proficiency extends to advising on complex investigations using advanced technologies and tools. With extensive experience in online investigations, she implements robust brand protection strategies. She has successfully managed numerous cases of online infringement, leveraging digital tools to monitor and enforce brand rights.

Chonnitorn is also experienced in working with the Thai authorities on intellectual property enforcement. She has collaborated with the Economic Crime Division (ECD) and the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) on various raid actions, resulting in successful outcomes for her clients.

Chonnitorn holds an LLB degree from Thammasat University, and she is a member of the Lawyers Council of Thailand.


Experience
  • Supported the seizure of counterfeit and customs-infringing goods in cooperation with the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) by conducting comprehensive research on target products in a matter with total claims of more than THB 50 million.
  • Conducted on-site surveys in areas prone to counterfeit goods, both in Thailand and internationally—including Brazil, the United States, and Japan—providing the client with valuable insights into counterfeit goods in foreign markets, prompting them to expand their brand protection plan to cover these new areas.
  • Conducted training sessions to provide customs officers in Thailand with preliminary guidelines for examining counterfeit goods.
  • Identified the source of an infringing website, collected evidence to substantiate the infringement, and proceeded with a website takedown.
  • Organized exhibition booths on behalf of a client at the 2022 International Trademark Association (INTA) annual meeting in Washington, DC, and the 2023 annual meeting in Singapore, attracting significant attention from participants and successfully meeting the client’s objectives.
