Biography

Piyachon Jiraratmethakorn is an associate in the dispute resolution department at Tilleke & Gibbins in Bangkok. As an experienced lead trial attorney in courtroom litigation, he helps clients achieve favorable outcomes in a wide range of corporate disputes, including general commercial disputes, white-collar crime and other criminal matters, labor disputes, business rehabilitation, and various other disputes that can arise in the course of doing business.

Piyachon’s legal knowledge, analytical skills, and advocacy prowess enable clients to resolve their corporate and other disputes in as efficient a manner as possible under Thai law. At the same time, Piyachon’s responsiveness and focus ensure that clients are able to navigate the Thai dispute resolution process effectively while fully understanding the opportunities, risks, and implications at each stage.

Prior to joining Tilleke & Gibbins, Piyachon was an associate in two other leading law firms in Bangkok. He holds an LLM in Intellectual Property in the Digital Economy from the University of Glasgow and an LLB from Chulalongkorn University. He is a licensed member of the Thai Bar Association and a notarial services attorney licensed by the Lawyers Council of Thailand.

  • Represented a prominent casino corporation operating in Cambodia in a dispute involving a multimillion USD competition claim, achieving a prompt and advantageous settlement through SIAC arbitration.
  • Represented a European multinational construction company in defending a claim of a wrongful act brought by a global leader in sales and production of polylactic acid (PLA) at Thailand’s Civil Court, attaining a favorable outcome after the first phase of trials.
  • Represented a large residential development company in criminal and civil claims exceeding THB 100 million, achieving a favorable outcome at the preliminary hearing stage.
  • Assisted a British multinational law firm in representing a leading retailer in the UK in a dispute over employment of foreign workers before the High Court of Justice of England and Wales.
