Ly Thi Minh Nguyen is an associate with Tilleke & Gibbins’ corporate and commercial team, based in the Hanoi office. She provides clients with substantive advice in corporate/M&A matters including vendor due diligence for cross-border transactions, real estate, labor, and cross-border white-collar crime investigations. With a client-centered mindset, she delivers legal solutions to clients’ problems efficiently and quickly.
Before moving to the corporate and commercial team, Ly spent more than 10 years in the intellectual property space, gaining valuable insight and experience in trademark prosecution and post-registration matters, licensing and assignment, domain name disputes and unfair competition, IP due diligence, and investigation and implementation of enforcement strategies.
In addition to her law degree, Ly holds degrees in international business economics and English. She is a qualified lawyer and a member of the Hanoi Bar Association.
- Assisted an American company with a cross-border white-collar crime investigation in Vietnam regarding labor and compliance issues.
- Assisted a Japanese veterinary pharmaceutical company with wide-ranging due diligence on a target company’s manufacturing subsidiary in Vietnam, covering corporate issues, permits and licenses, environmental matters, compliance, and intellectual property.
- Assisted a Swedish investment firm with due diligence for land lease regarding multiple premises of the target company’s international school in Vietnam
- Assisted a Taiwanese securities company with due diligence on the Vietnamese subsidiary of a target company for the purpose of the company’s application for listing and completion of its transaction.
- Advised a Chinese technology company on data privacy issues.
- Assisted a Swiss technology company in assignment of a wide range of their trademarks in Vietnam.
- Assisted several organizations with reviewing employment contracts and advised on issues related to labor law.
- Advised well-known multinational corporations on registration and post-registration maintenance of their trademark portfolios in Vietnam, and assisted with assignment, licensing, and implementation of enforcement strategies for their IP rights.
