My first connection to Tilleke was an internship, and because it was such a positive experience, I chose to return as an attorney when I began my professional career. Since then I’ve been given the chance to represent an incredible range of clients in high-stakes litigation—from the world’s biggest tech companies in trouble over user activity, to foreign embassies in need of legal assistance.

When I wanted to step away from my work to pursue graduate studies in Germany, my colleagues in the firm were full of encouragement. My master’s studies in intellectual property law—as well as my experience at a leading law firm in Germany—helped tremendously by deepening my legal knowledge and preparing me to participate actively in legal teams working on complex matters. After returning to Cambodia, I applied my new skills by rejoining Tilleke, where I’ve worked with some of the world’s biggest brands to secure and defend their intellectual property rights.

Chuyen Hong Huu Le – Associate

Foreign-licensed lawyers play an active role in case management and strategy. As members of litigation, commercial, and IP teams, we collaborate with our Southeast Asian colleagues to provide world-class legal representation. We also often act as a cultural bridge for clients in difficult situations—helping them understand and anticipate things that may be perfectly normal in the local context, but completely unexpected for companies based abroad.

My journey toward becoming partner and director of the firm’s office in Myanmar has been immensely satisfying. From my first day as an intern at Tilleke, the firm has offered me every opportunity to work at the cutting edge of legal practice, building up my legal and business skills in the process. Eventually that led to me overseeing a full-service office in one of Asia’s most exciting emerging markets, progressing to the level of partner, and working with many of the world’s largest and most innovative companies on an exciting range of work. Today, I’m not only proud of helping those companies thrive in Asia’s last economic frontier—I’m also excited to help our firm do the same.
