Tilleke & Gibbins has been ranked as a “Tier 1” firm for both “Patent Contentious” and “Patent Prosecution” work in Thailand by Asia IP in its annual Patent Survey. The survey provides an overview of patent practices across 16 jurisdictions in the Asia-Pacific region, and is compiled through written submissions and research interviews with legal practitioners and clients.
Asia IP also cited Darani Vachanavuttivong, co-managing partner and managing director of the IP group at Tilleke & Gibbins, for her views on the Patent Prosecution Highway pilot program. Darani states that the program will facilitate and accelerate the patent examination process, with first office actions taking six months to be issued and standard substantive examination requests taking one to two years to complete. Alan Adcock, partner and deputy director of Tilleke & Gibbins’ IP group, was also mentioned for his thoughts on patentable subject matter under the Thai Patent Act.
