European Chambers of Commerce to Hold Breakfast Talk on Flood Preparations

The Franco-Thai, Thai-Italian, Belgian-Luxembourg-Thai, and Netherlands-Thai Chambers of Commerce are jointly hosting a seminar, “Floods: Are You Ready? Legal Aspects of the Floods 2011 and What You Need to Know to Prepare Yourself.” The seminar will take place on September 13, 2012, at the Sofitel hotel in Bangkok. The seminar will consist of presentations on several topics, including insurance issues, government subsidies, and tax relief.

Among the presentations, David Duncan, consultant in the Tilleke & Gibbins corporate and commercial department, will discuss issues in connection with permanently ceasing operations. He will review how businesses can ensure they are thoroughly prepared, and he will provide an overview of employer obligations toward employees under Thai labor law. David will also set forth some best practices for ensuring legal compliance, minimizing the company’s costs, and maintaining good labor relations during the wind up.  The seminar will conclude with a Q&A session for the attendees.

To register for the seminar, please visit the Franco-Thai Chamber of Commerce website.
