The flood crisis which is currently threatening to engulf Bangkok has affected the operations of many companies in Thailand. To help educate companies about how to manage business risk and minimize the effects of the flood, the Franco-Thai Chamber of Commerce is organizing an educational breakfast talk for its members. The speakers will provide an overview of both the relevant government policies and some of the proactive steps companies can take under Thai law as they begin the recovery process.
The event will include a presentation by David Duncan, a consultant at Tilleke & Gibbins, who will discuss temporary cessation of operations under Thai labor law. David’s presentation will build on his recent Bangkok Post article on the subject. Other presentations will examine:
- BOI announcements and recovery packages
- Insurance claims during the flood crisis
- Impact on tax and other labor policies
The breakfast talk will be held on November 15, 2011, at the Sofitel Silom in Bangkok. For more information on the event, please contact the Franco-Thai Chamber of Commerce.
