The International Trademark Association (INTA) has published an interview with Sher Hann Chua, a consultant in the firm’s Bangkok and Yangon offices, who was recently chosen by INTA to receive their Tomorrow’s Leader Award. The prize is an annual award that recognizes two outstanding, young trademark practitioners from around the world who have shown exceptional commitment to, and leadership in, the intellectual property (IP) industry. For Sher Hann, it is a recognition of her outstanding multijurisdictional work and regular international speaking engagements on IP across the region, most notably in Myanmar where she is at the forefront of authoring legal updates and publications on the country’s new suite of IP laws.
The article, which is featured on INTABlog, contains interviews with the two winners—Sher Hann along with Suzannah Johnson of King & Wood Mallesons in Australia—on their current work in IP and future aspirations for themselves and the IP field in general. In the interview, Sher Hann gives words of encouragement to other young IP practitioners, talks about her new position on the INTA Emerging Issues committee for the 2020–2021 term, and mentions Tilleke & Gibbins’ close work with INTA through the Unreal Campaign.
