On September 30, 2020, John Frangos, partner and deputy director of Tilleke & Gibbins’ dispute resolution department, will be an invited speaker in a webinar on compliance with U.S. and Thai anti-corruption laws. The webinar is organized by the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) in Thailand, and a major focus of the event will be the U.S.’s flagship anticorruption measure governing international business activities, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA).
Businesses that operate in Thailand and interact with any American entity need to understand the interaction between Thai anti-corruption legislation and the FCPA—and how to comply with both. Though the FCPA has been in place for many years, this webinar is especially timely as the U.S. Department of Justice has recently released the second edition of its resource guide on the FCPA, updating the previous edition from 2012.
This AMCHAM Thailand webinar will provide attendees with much-needed updates on how to comply with Thai and U.S. laws, as well as best practices for avoiding pitfalls and risking support for corrupt business practices. In addition to John, the other speakers will include representatives from corporate, legal, and business services sectors.
