The U.S. Congress recently passed legislation banning the importation of products which use forced or indentured labor. Certain U.S. states, including California, have legislation which instead focuses on supply chain transparency and disclosures on the use of forced and indentured labor for imported goods. Major class-action lawsuits against distributors have arisen over failures to make these disclosures.
To discuss these issues and more, Michael Ramirez, a consultant in Tilleke & Gibbins’ dispute resolution and litigation group, will serve as a guest speaker at “Prohibitions on Import of Goods Where Forced Labor is Used,” a Legal Committee Meeting hosted by the American Chamber of Commerce Thailand.
The event will take place on March 21 at 12 noon at the AMCHAM office on Wireless Road, Bangkok, Thailand. If you would like to learn more about this event, please visit the AMCHAM website.
