From June 20 to June 22, 2018, Nandana Indananda and Suebsiri Taweepon, partners in Tilleke & Gibbins’ intellectual property department, will join other leading legal practitioners, members of the judiciary, and academics from the United States and Southeast Asia to speak at an international forum to discuss issues affecting civil and criminal intellectual property litigation.
The three-day event is jointly organized by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and the ASEAN Secretariat as part of the USPTO’s Global Intellectual Property Academy program, which brings together luminaries in international intellectual property litigation from across the world to share knowledge. This event will feature in-depth discussions of some of the most important topics affecting litigation in recent years, including a discussion between Nandana and Judge Victoria Roberts of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, on the challenges faced in copyright civil infringement cases, on the morning of June 20; and a discussion of the challenges faced in trademark civil infringement cases, between Suebsiri and Judge Derrick Watson of the US District Court for the District of Hawaii, on the afternoon of June 20.
The event, entitled Judicial Colloquium on Civil and Criminal IP Infringement Cases, will be held at the Landmark Bangkok Hotel. Attendance is by invitation only.
