Nitikar Nith Speaks on Photographic and Video Rights

On October 7, 2019, Nitikar Nith, an advisor in Tilleke & Gibbins’ Cambodia office, presented on rights issues related to photography and video at a training session for young journalists. Nitikar appeared in connection with her role as program director of Sala Traju , an association promoting legal research, legal education, and the dissemination of legal knowledge in Cambodia. Over 20 citizen journalists and media professionals attended her talk, which delved into intellectual property issues—particularly copyright considerations for journalists working with photographs and video.

The session was part of a day-long training event held at the Phnom Penh offices of Thmey Thmey , an online independent Cambodian media outlet. In addition to Nitikar’s session on image rights considerations for journalists, other speakers during the day covered media ethics, data protection and online security, and combating fake news.

As a regional independent firm steadfastly dedicated to the development and shared prosperity of Southeast Asia, Tilleke & Gibbins is pleased to see our professionals support efforts to foster local understanding of legal concepts and issues.
