Sher Hann Chua to Speak at CCPIT Event in Shanghai

On April 25, Sher Hann Chua, a consultant in Tilleke & Gibbins’ intellectual property department, based in our Bangkok and Yangon offices, will speak at a seminar co-hosted by the Overseas Trademark Protection office of the Shanghai Administration for Market Regulation, the Shanghai Trademark Association, and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) in Shanghai Free Trade Zone. Sher Hann’s presentation, entitled “Best Practices in Trademark Registration, Enforcement and Strategies against Bad-Faith Registration in South-East Asia” will build on a number of real-life case studies to highlight how attendees can best protect their marks in the region, which has seen a major increase in investment from Chinese brands in recent years.

Sher Hann is one of two speakers from overseas law firms at the event, which also features two speakers from Chinese companies, and two speakers from the CCPIT, and is in honor of World IP Day. The event is intended for officials and in-house counsel from businesses in and around Shanghai, by invitation only, and will be conducted in Chinese.
