The nominations for the International Tax Review’s Asia Tax Awards have been announced, and Tilleke & Gibbins has been shortlisted in three categories:
Chusert Supasitthumrong, a partner in Tilleke & Gibbins’ dispute resolution and litigation group, will speak at “Labor Laws Updates 2016,” a conference hosted by Ideal Forum. The conference will focus on recent developments in Thailand’s labor law, and in particular, it will cover interesting Labor Court and Supreme Court rulings, termination of employment, dismissals, reorganization, and employee fraud detection and litigation, among other topics.
Three Tilleke & Gibbins partners have been invited to lecture at the “ASEAN Business and Investment Law Training Course,” hosted by the Law and Development Research Center, Faculty of Law, Chulalongkorn University. The U.S. Congress recently passed legislation banning the importation of products which use forced or indentured labor. Certain U.S. states, including California, have legislation which instead focuses on supply chain transparency and disclosures on the use of forced and indentured labor for imported goods. Major class-action lawsuits against distributors have arisen over failures to make these disclosures.
