The third edition of the World Aircraft Repossession Index was recently published by leading US law firm Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, calculating and ranking the legal environment and framework for aircraft asset recoverability in 102 jurisdictions around the world. Using professional knowledge from local counsel in each of the represented jurisdictions, and supplemental information from external sources, the index ranks jurisdictions on seven factors: repossession, insolvency, deregistration, export, judgements and arbitral awards, preferential liens, and political stability.
John Frangos, consultant in Tilleke & Gibbins’ dispute resolution group and aviation industry specialist, and Nuanchun Somboonvinij, litigator in the firm’s dispute resolution group with a focus on aircraft lease disputes, provided their insight on the Thai aviation industry to contribute the Thailand chapter to the index.
The Thailand chapter of the index is available for download the PDF below, and the full guide is available here.
