Tilleke & Gibbins Presents on Anti-Corruption Issues to Thai Government Agency

Informed Counsel

Areeya Pornwiriyangkura, an attorney-at-law in the Tilleke & Gibbins’ intellectual property group, was recently asked by the Public Sector Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) to make a presentation on anti-corruption issues in Thailand. The PACC is a government agency that was established under the Ministry of Justice with the aim of forming long-term strategic development to improve the corruption situation in Thailand. As a representative of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and an expert on a variety of enforcement procedures, Areeya was chosen by the PACC to speak on this most important topic as part of a “Measures to Protect Investors and Operators Against Corruption” seminar.

The presentation covered a variety of subjects, ranging from introducing a number of key government officials to the ICC, to discussing past and present ICC anti-corruption projects. Areeya delivered a concise and informative presentation that was met with a hugely positive reception. More than 40 participants from organizations such as the Board of Investment, the Federation of Thai Industries, and the Office of the National Anti-Corruption Commission, attended the event.
