Webinar: Ship Arrest – Experiences from Southeast Asia and the UK

On July 22, Noppramart Thammateeradaycho, counsel in Tilleke & Gibbins’ regional dispute resolution and litigation group, and Giang Hoang Bach, an associate in the firm’s Vietnam practice, teamed up with Clive Aston, former president of the London Maritime Arbitrator Association, and Tan Hui Tsing, a partner at DennisMathiew in Singapore, to present a webinar entitled “Ship Arrest – Experiences from Southeast Asia and the UK.”

Cohosted by Tilleke & Gibbins and the Bangkok Shipowners and Agents Association, the webinar was organized to provide a structured discussion on jurisdiction-specific and cross-border issues relevant to international shipping disputes and ship arrests in Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and the UK. In doing so, the speakers covered:

  • the role of international arbitrators and lawyers in maritime claims and disputes;
  • using ship arrests to enforce and collect on arbitral awards; and
  • the criteria and regulatory framework for ship arrests in Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

The webinar is now available to watch online, free of charge, below.
