Tiziana Sucharitkul is a co-managing partner of Tilleke & Gibbins and director of the firm’s dispute resolution and litigation group. She is consistently ranked as one of Thailand’s leading dispute resolution lawyers by publications including The Legal 500 Asia Pacific; Asialaw Profiles, which named her the Asia-Pacific Disputes Star of the Year 2015; and Benchmark Litigation which, in 2020, listed her as one of the top 100 female litigators in the Asia-Pacific region for her work in commercial and transactional disputes and government and regulatory work. She represents international clients in diverse industries including technology, financial services, consumer goods, luxury goods, and transportation.

Tiziana has earned the trust of her multinational clients by infusing her regional practice with a perspective that is global and integrated. Tiziana, a lawyer licensed and educated in California, previously practiced at the international law firm of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP. Tiziana serves as Chair Emeritus of the Board of Directors of Lex Mundi, a leading legal network of which Tilleke & Gibbins is a member, and of which she has previously served as Chair and as a member of the executive committee. She also serves on the Board of Bangkok Patana School, where she sits as the Head of the Human Resource Committee, the Chair of the Steering Committee, and the Secretary of the Foundation Board.

Known for her ability to develop strategies that not only address, but anticipate, clients’ needs, Tiziana promotes cross-collaboration within the firm’s practice areas and excels in managing multifaceted cases. Tiziana says that the secret to her team’s tremendous success is that they “are willing to bring innovative ideas to the table.”

  • Acted on behalf of several multinational corporations in high-profile criminal customs disputes involving the assessment and calculation of customs duties and penalties. In addition to our representation in active customs investigations and inquiries, our customs experts regularly counsel clients in a variety of compliance and operational matters related to the import and export of goods and services in Thailand.

  • Represented one of the world’s most recognizable fashion and luxury goods retailers in several commercial real estate disputes in Thailand arising from the disputed termination of a 30-year franchisee relationship. This representation includes negotiation and settlement of lease hold and commercial franchisee contracts with both the outgoing franchisee and the incoming franchisee partner, one of Southeast Asia’s largest and most successful commercial retailers.

  • Prosecuted several claims on behalf of two major Southeast Asian banks against various Thai borrowers and guarantors (claims total USD 72,000,000).

  • Represented a subcontractor in a construction dispute against the prime contractor of a controversial wastewater management project (claims exceed USD 33,000,000).

  • Recovered USD 38,000,000 for a foreign multinational, as well as a 25-year office lease in a prime Bangkok office building and a full release of the debtor's USD 46,000,000 countersuit against our client.

  • Represented a manufacturer of consumer products in high-profile administrative court proceedings, challenging the legality and constitutionality of Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health labeling and packaging requirements.

  • Obtained favorable settlement of a USD 660,000 civil case on behalf of one of the world's largest software developers against its Thai distributor.

  • Counseled a multinational security and financial logistics company in contract disputes with a major Thai financial institution.

  • Assisted a financial institution in its high-profile civil and criminal prosecution of individuals for processing fraudulent loans supported by inflated security.

  • Represented a multinational company in unfair termination proceedings initiated by former senior executives.

  • Acted for a financial institution in civil malpractice claims against one of the “Big Four” auditing firms for negligence and deliberate misrepresentation.
