Procedures for Copyright Registration in Vietnam During COVID-19 Epidemic

Like many government agencies in Vietnam, the Copyright Office of Vietnam (COV) has temporarily closed during the COVID-19 pandemic to safeguard the health of its staff as well as its visitors.

As a result, the COV is no longer directly receiving applications for registration of copyright and related rights at its office through April 15, 2020. (This period could be extended, depending on the developments of the epidemic.)

These procedures can still be conducted through one of the following options:

  • Online submission of applications and supporting materials using the public service and single-window portal of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism at https://dichvucong.bvhttdl.gov.vn/ (only available in Vietnamese); or
  • Submission of physical application dossiers to the COV via post or courier. For such applications, applicants must submit the name of the work to be copyrighted, its author, its owner, and the phone number and address of the applicant. The COV will return the registration results via post or courier.

Applicants who submitted applications in person at the COV before March 30, 2020, should contact the Department of Registration of Copyright and Related Rights via telephone (+84 243 823 4304) for instructions and/or feedback.
